2. Be able to write an essay about what you’ve learnt from Marty.

1. Grasp what Marty’s story is.
2. How to guide the students to learn Marty’s good spirits.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Greetings & Warming-up
1. Appreciate a short piece of video—Dance of two disabled people;
2. Talking about disabilities
Q: Do you know any famous people who are disabled? What do they do?
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask students to read the pre-reading carefully and find out the purpose of the website.
 

The purpose of the website
1. To give ordinary young people with a disability the chance to share their stories with others.
2. To inspire other disabled people.
3. To get non-disabled people to understand more about how challenging life can be for people with disabilities.
Step 3 While-reading
1. Fast-reading: Listen for the answers to the following two questions and the main idea of each paragraph by matching.

 Q2: What’s Marty’s dream?

1.      He’s happy to have found many things he can do, like writing and computer programming;
